
Mr. Kevin Tabb – Director Of Bands
Kevin Tabb was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri where he graduated from Hazelwood East High School in 1988. Mr. Tabb received his Bachelor of Art in Music Education and Master of Art in Education from the University of Memphis. While attending the University of Memphis, in addition to marching, he taught several area drumlines and helped instruct the indoor college drumline which finished in the top three at PASIC (Percussive Arts Society International Convention) in 1993 and 1994, winning best snare and tenor lines in 1993.
Mr. Tabb has extensive drum corps experience both as a member and instructor. He marched with the Dubuque Colts in 1989, moving to the two-time world champion Madison Scouts in 1990 and 1991. After aging out with the Scouts, he returned to the Colts as a percussion technician from 1992-1997, serving as percussion caption head his last year. After his stint with the Colts, Mr. Tabb went off to serve as Percussion and Program Coordinator for the Memphis Sound and Capital Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps from 1998-2002.
Mr. Tabb started his teaching career in 1997 at Tupelo Middle School in Tupelo, Mississippi. He then moved back to Memphis, serving as assistant director for Houston High School (1998-2003), where he directed the indoor marching percussion ensemble to two world class WGI (Winter Guard International) finalist appearances.
In 2003, Mr. Tabb began his first position as a head band director in Pontotoc, Mississippi at Pontotoc High School, where he served for three years. In 2006, he married his beautiful wife Jennifer, of San Antonio, Texas, where he moved to begin his family. Mr. Tabb served as assistant director at John Marshall High School until August of 2013 when he took over as director of bands.

Mr. Ronald Burton – Colorguard Director
Ronald Burton graduated from John Jay Science and Engineering Academy High School in San Antonio, Texas in 2012. In his time there he studied studied clarinet privately under the artist Ruth Aguirre. In addition to his time there, he was also a part of the John Jay Silver guard, where he studied under Ruben Alejandre for the four years. In the summer of 2012 Ronald marched in the Revolution Drum and Bugle Corps, here he was taught by Albert Rojas.
Ronald went to the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) in pursuit of his degree in Cyber Securities/Information Systems. In his time at UTSA he joined the Band program for non-band majors playing the clarinet in University Band. He also joined the UTSA auxiliaries (Colorguard). There he was under the instruction of Randi Miles. Ronald also took part in the UTSA Colorguard independent group. Ronald became the Colorguard captain his last three years there. Ronald took on a couple of side elective classes in dance, Modern Dance and Intro to Dance.
Ronald started teaching in 2012 as a technician at John Jay High School and William Howard Taft. In 2018 he became the head Colorguard director at John Marshall High School. In 2018 and 2019 he took the group to a challenging competition in the Scholastic Regional A Division at the WGI San Antonio Regional. In 2019 Ronald led the group to finish 4th place at the Texas Educational Colorguard Association (TECA) Championship. Ronald is currently the TECA Vice President of Colorguard. He also currently serves as the John Marshall High School Colorguard Instructor in NISD, the Colorguard instructor at Jourdanton High School in JISD, and a technician at McCollum High School in HISD.
